Prince Laja Adeoye, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Fendini Homes, recently unveiled an innovative initiative at Rayfield Gardens City Estate in Ibadan. In an exclusive interview in Ibadan, Oyo State's capital, Adeoye explained the estate's transition to solar energy to power its infrastructure.
Adeoye emphasized the importance of reliable electricity for modern estates. Rayfield Gardens City Estate has converted all its streetlights to 100% solar power, ensuring constant illumination throughout the night. This move aims to enhance the liveliness, visibility, and security of residents, offering them a serene environment with modern architectural designs and quality construction.
Fendini Homes is committed to providing a seamless living experience. Adeoye highlighted the estate's amenities, including solid paved roads, drainage systems, and multi-layered power options (grid and solar). The integration of security features, treated water plants, fiber optic internet, and smart home technologies further enhances the quality of life for residents.
"In our proof of concept, we have maintained street lighting for the past year without interruption," Adeoye stated. "Each house will also have solar light poles, ensuring comprehensive illumination across the estate."
To minimize environmental impact, each house is designed with 10-20KVA of solar power capacity, reducing reliance on noisy generators and fossil fuels. "We prioritize a clean, aesthetically pleasing environment," Adeoye added, highlighting efforts to mitigate air and noise pollution.
The estate's development is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between Fendini Limited and the Oyo State Government, aimed at providing approximately 400 housing units. Adeoye also discussed investment opportunities, inviting sub-developers to participate in commercial ventures within the estate, such as hotels, schools, offices, and recreational facilities.
"We offer a master plan that accommodates various business opportunities," Adeoye explained. "Rayfield Gardens City Estate is designed to be a comprehensive community, offering everything from shopping to healthcare within its borders."
